Robert Ridgen and David Ridgen created this video using photographs taken by Canadian volunteers who joined American forces in Vietnam, and using a soundtrack recorded by soldier photographer Kevin McVeigh during a search and destroy mission. The photographs – many of them damaged over time – were gathered from a number of sources, re-photographed, then filmed and edited. The resulting experimental documentary takes a critical look at the heart of the conflict from many points of view.
“Dear David,
Very glad to hear that the film is done and will be broadcast soon. I hope you have a well-tested bullet-proof vest.”
Noam Chomsky,

“Overwhelming sense of sadness pervades fine film on Palestine.”
Mark Horton, Edmonton Journal
“Ridgen walks headlong into this political and human minefield with the aplomb of an inquiring reporter [and] asks a number of explosive questions.”
Sheldon Kirshner,
